Welcome to country is a ceremony performed by Aboriginals upon arrival of non-
indigenous people to Australia, whereby the perform a ceremonial routine that is a way
in which non-indigenous people may recognise the culture and traditions of the
Aboriginal people. It can only be performed by the elders of the Indigenous community
from that particular country.
What is the close the gap campaign?
The close the gap campaign is a campaign in place to close the life expectancy age gap
between Indigenous and non-indigenous Australians, to create a unified community.
What is the cultural security scale?
The cultural security scale is a set of guidelines for a cultural safe and culturally
respective health practice and treatment of Indigenous Australians.
What are human rights and how do they apply to Indigenous
human rights?
Human rights are a set of required treatments of all people, and should be adhered to.
