Short term dating partners judge on physical attractive: found in heterosexual men, women and homosexual men. Composite images of peoples faces are often rated as highly attractive: generated using algorithms that average out faces, could be due to symmetry. In a research study by naomi eisenberger and colleagues, participants who were ostracised during a game of cyberball: Were more likely to display aggressive behaviour in a subsequent video game. Showed increased neural activity in the amygdala, suggesting a fear response occurred. Displayed in-group favouritism towards the other participants.
