Companionate love: less intense in emotion, combines feelings of affection and deep attachment while maintaining a deep sense of care and concern for another. Passionate love scale: rating 1-9, the extent the statements below relate to someone you might be in love with right now. Despair, unable to control thoughts, happy when they"re happy, jealous if they were in love with someone else. Self-expansion model: individuals have a fundamental drive to develop and expand their sense of self who they are and how they fit in the social world. Falling in love facilitates self-expansion as developing a relationship with another brings forth new experiences and changes in the self concept.
