Document Summary
Aitsl standard 1. 4 - strategies for teaching aboriginal and torres strait islander students: at graduate level you need to demonstrate broad knowledge and understanding of impact on culture, cultural identity and linguistic background on the education of students from. 8 aboriginal ways of learning: story sharing, learning maps, non verbal, symbols and images, land links, non-linear, deconstruct/reconstruct, community links. Differentiation is an approach to teaching that expects student diversity and believes that teaching can be adapted to these differences. The woman with the blonde hair, not the blonde haired woman . The girl with down-syndrome, not the down-syndrome girl . Why are there differences: prior knowledge and experiences, difference in cognitive ability, home environment, maturity level, self-efficacy, culturally determined perceptions of school and learning. Differentiation is about balance: some children will require an individual plan but differentiation is not about planning individual programs for every child. It is about providing every child with the opportunity to succeed.
