Is not what you are born with, not biological > it is learnt and experienced: not the same as race or ethnicity, exists at many different levels: values, attitudes, beliefs, worldview, and in artefacts, social. Involves shared rules/understandings that shape behaviour, norms and o-existence structures, norms, interpersonal relationships, etc. Culture blindness: although culture shapes/influences many aspects of existence, it can often be, taken for granted: people may not recognise how they have been shaped by their culture. Ignored: psychological theories/practices have generally been developed in western countries, such that understanding of human behaviour can be limited/ethnocentric: given little credit: for how much it can influence. Indigenous australians also have their own cultural legacies which with complex systems of meaning and tradition; history, place and time; lifestyle and kinship; sacredness and fealty. In recent centuries much of their story has been tainted by invasion, degradation and maltreatment.
