Document Summary

Three fundamentals of biology: evolution through natural selection. All lives are evolved from pre-existing lives and the evidence for it are homology and fossil records. Homology means that same traits or functioning units can be found on different organisms, suggesting the possibility of a common ancestor. Fossil records can prove the existence of some extinct animals. homology among humans, dogs and seals. Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny, literally means that the development is a fast action replay of ancestry. E. g. webbing between fingers (in fetus) degenerate and free digits appear which means that before free digits there was webbing. Evolution = variability + naturally selecting from variation: unity of biochemical processes. E. g. all have dna as hereditary substance, proteins, etc: cell theory all living things are made up of cells. Tubulin proteins to form a hollow, strawed-like tube. They are more permanent and play a critical role in. They can grow the shrink quickly by the addition or removal of tubulin.
