Under intergroup competition, group members tended to show ingroup favouritism" where they favoured members of the same group more than members of their outgroup directed towards the outgroup, stereotypes and prejudice. Under intergroup competition, group members tend to develop negative stereotypes. Example of paintings they prefer, klee"s or kandinski"s. To create social identities without intergroup competition, people were asked what types. Categorised into two groups based on their choices. Asked to allocate points to a person from their in-group and a person from outgroup.
