Labour induction: when a woman does not go into labour. Pre-eclampsia: 10% of all live births mum had pre-eclampsia, have to deliver the baby or it will kill the mother only cure. Intra-uterine growth restriction (iugr: can be with or without preeclampsia. Caesarean delivery: kids born from c-section do not do as well as childhood but do grow out of it. Immune dysfunction, allergies, anaemia, bowl dysfunction compared to children born vaginally. Pelvic organ damage: hypoxic necrosis: pressure of baby"s head for too long will cause death of cells, particularly in bowel, fistulas. Up until 12 weeks though the placenta is not functional. Growing foetus is being fed by uterine secretion: as you reach 12 weeks, secretions are not enough. Arteries can no longer contract at all - don"t have smooth muscle to do so blood flow greatly. When this eating away does not occur = pre-eclampsia. Never any mixing of maternal and foetal blood cell layers between them.
