Attraction attraction is the act of being drawn to something or someone else. Keys to interpersonal attraction situational factors (e. g. physical proximity, mere exposure, the circumstance of how you first met), similarity (i. e. whether you have anything in common), and physical attractiveness. These elements often form the foundation of whether the interaction between two or more people will lead into a new platonic or romantic relationship. Physical proximity: people become physically close to others. ): live or work for a long time. Matching hypothesis: people tend to form relationships with those who are similar to themselves in physical attractiveness----opposite don"t really attract. What we find attractive is pre-historically determined(has their defined roles) Women: prefer to mate with men who would be good be good fathers and be good providers. Men: preferred to mate with women who could bear healthy babies.
