• Ethical issues - education and social class
o Macro ethical issues:
• Private schools?
• Should federal govt give so much money to private schools?
• Make more effort to broaden the classed elements of schooling culture?
• Compensate for social class when organising university entrance?
o Personal ethical issues:
• Should I spend at least part of my career teaching in a low SES school?
• To what extent will I allow my academic expectations be set by the socio-
economic status of the school I teach at?
• Ethical issues - education and race/ethnicity
o Macro ethical issues:
• More multilingual approach to education?
• More money spent on Indigenous schooling?
• More effort to employ teachers from more ethnically diverse backgrounds?
• Where do we stand on the issue of Islamic dress for girls within state schools?
o Personal ethical issues:
