Document Summary
Let"s think critically about some of the important elements in ui design. These may seem familiar to you when considering your daily interactions with services, devices and environments. Simplicity - keeping things simple: visibility - clear clutter, need to know basis, tolerance - flexibility in user error and saving user data, reuse - consistency in behaviour and naming. Input controls: items such as text fields, buttons or toggles, lists, dropdown icons or tools, etc: navigational components: sliders, icons and buttons, bookmarks or tabs, sliders, search fields, containers: grids, column rows, accordion. Informational components: modal windows, popup bars or progress bars, icons, tooltips. The best interfaces are almost invisible to the user. User interface style sheets are a language used and applied to guis. These are called on to program or mark up ui elements. We are interesting in styling sheets to understand how our mobile apps maintain gui consistency.
