• 1st rule of good communication, get the context right
• If there's no context, the audience won't know what you're talking
about.
• 2nd rule – keep it simple
• Too much information makes it a chore to read
• Just because you have a lot of information doesn't mean it's good
information.
• Good professional communicators keep it clear and concise.
What is Communication?
• Transmitting info
• Interacting through speech or text
• Understanding the message –how we interpret the information
• Sharing of meaning through information, ideas and feelings
• Why communicate? Usually because we want to change or
reinforce opinions or behavior.
• We want to persuade people
Forms of Communication
• Communication forms :Verbal (written or spoken), non verbal,
graphic, electronic
