Essay writing
Develop own writing style and construction of essays, sentences, and
arguments in order to express analysis (concentration on essay form)
Formulaic nature of school essays are not like uni essays
TIP: find peer reviewed articles under subject - English (moodle? Check
powerpoint from moodle)
REMEMBER!!! When writing, use only AUTHOR and READER, not
composer and responder
University provides concentrated focus on literary texts (with no related texts)
Uses specific technical language

LITERARY CANON - refers to a body of books, narratives and other texts considered
to be the most important and influential of a particular time period or place.
GENRE - classificatory tool, a way of sorting and organising kinds of texts and other
cultural objects.
