Contraindicated in patients <20 years old epses. Se drowsiness, anticholinergic, epses, lowers seizure threshold. Serum ferritin best indicator of total body stores: serum iron is not best indicator can be elevated in infection/elderly/hepatic. Ferrograd/ferrogradumet 325mg ferrous sulfate = 105mg elemental iron. Ferrotab 200mg ferrous fumarate = 65. 7mg of elemental iron. Counselling: monitor levels every 3-6 months, se nausea, constipation, needs acidic environment antacids, ppi, sodium bicarb, calcium. Digoxin se coffee beans always dig bad drowsy things .
