An extremism of the center, revolting against the left
Fascism is often a last response to the downfall of capitalism
Core Elements:
• Anti-Rational
- Emotion and instinct
- Inequality of human beings: There are superior people such as
natural leaders and then the masses that need to be lead
- People have an innate will for power
- Anti-enlightenment
- Humans need to feel as though they belong
- People need to follow a strong leader
• Nationalist and Statist
- People are subordinate to and should sacrifice themselves to
the country
- People who threaten or oppose the state are rid of
- Corporatism: How big business can help the cause
- Emphasis on not relying on others and being able to work
• Revolutionary/Anti:
- Democratic
- Liberal
- Socialist
- Communist
• Totalitarian
- Emphasizes the unity of the nation
- One people require one leader, one party
- Charismatic leadership
- Total control of all aspects of life including public and private
