Document Summary
Choking: is food getting lodged in the throat and they can"t breathe. Aspirating: fluid entering into the lungs with the respiratory current - would lead to patient coughing as reflex. Determine the presence or absence of a feeding/swallowing difficulty. Collect information on the current medical diagnosis, patient"s medical history, history of the feeding/swallowing disorder, client or carer"s understanding and awareness of the feeding/swallowing disorder.
