Identity
-Who you are, where you are going and how you fit into society
-Gender identity, national identity, vocational identity, racial/ethnic identity, sexual
orientation, spiritual or religious identity, personal identity
Self-Concept:
-Who am I? your awareness ad thoughts about yourself, categorical self-concept and
how we fit into the world
Real and possible selves:
-Part of our self-concept: who were perceive ourselves to be, and who we might
become
Self-esteem:
How good am I?
-Social acceptance
-Behavioural conduct
-Athletic competence
-Physical appearance
-Scholastic competence
Self and identity can be challenged and perceived as people grow and adapt within
themselves. As one grows and becomes aware of themselves they have to understand
new perspectives of themselves and others to grow and form relationships with others
and will help people to have further perspectives on self and awareness.
