Document Summary
Assessment 2: group oral presentations and written one-page summary. What were your/groups/other groups assumptions, beliefs, attitudes and values. Power: how much can humans produce. Oxygen consumption: a measure on internal work. Response to exercise: exercise stimulus, maximal, the highest possible energy expenditure achievable, difficult and rarely achieved, must test numerous times to ensure it has been achieved, eg. Vo2 max: peak, the highest energy expenditure, load or duration achieved in an exercise bout, most commonly achieved, eg. Vo2 peak: submaximal, an exercise stimulus or physiological response that below the peak or maximal response achievable, steady-state, an exercise stimulus that elicits a relative plateau (flattening) in the physiological response. Incremental or step-wise: an exercise stimulus that increases or decreases in steps, ramp, continuous small changes in workload. Result in varied physiological responses due to intensity, duration or modulation of physical activity. Short-term moderate submaximal exercise: 10-15 minutes, 30-69% of maximal work capacity.
