In this course you will explore the scientific discipline of health promotion including the meaning of health and well-being, how health and well-being are created, and policies and programs that aim to improve the health and well-being of people. You will learn about the historical development of health promotion, the spectrum of health promotion from traditional to modern approaches, and the structures and resources for health promotion in. You will also critique contemporary health promotion programs and policies for evidence of best practice. Critiquing health promotion action (strategies, policies and programs) 200 level developing - applying broad and/or deep knowledge and skills to new contexts. May require pre- requisites and introductory level knowledge/skills.
