Behavior can interact with how we deal with conservation issues. Makes you think about lethal pest control measures. Now there are many supplies which can be purchased. Odor signals reproductive activity and signal in other predators. Experiment that foxes were much more interested in dog and cat odor rather than prey. They are more concerned with what their predators are doing. They think that they can exploit animals which are attracted to dog and cat odor. Animals can"t always be risk averse and can"t allocate time to vigilance. Greatest avoidance with pulses of high risk as vigilance declines with time spent in high risk state. This is why predator effects don"t work for a long time. Rapidly lose interest in old predator cues as they habituated. Received responses will be complex and short lived. When they have an impact on the birds eggs, they have the biggest impact on bird dynamics.
