Document Summary

Normal types of tissue growth and cell death. During tissue growth, it could utilities a combination of any of the following ways, which are considered normal tissue growth: multiplicative (hyperplasia, auxetic (hypertrophy, accretionary (hyperplasia & hypertrophy combined. Atrophy > (cid:449)he(cid:374) there"s a de(cid:272)rease i(cid:374) the size of tissue (cid:894)(cid:272)ould (cid:271)e the (cid:449)hole orga(cid:374)(cid:895). It (cid:272)a(cid:374) be both due to a physiological and pathological reason. e. g. physiological: could be a part of morphogenesis (hands start out as paddles and cells are lost via apoptosis, to form fingers). Apoptosis is a pro(cid:272)ess of (cid:272)ell death that is (cid:272)o(cid:374)sidered (cid:374)or(cid:373)al. It"s a(cid:374) e(cid:374)erg(cid:455) depe(cid:374)de(cid:374)t process, in which is a biochemical mode of cell death, which implies certain biological features, not just any cell death. Can be triggered by a range of pathological stimuli. Pathological responses in tissues hypertrophy, hyperplasia, metaplasia, atrophy. Metaplasia > the abnormal change in the nature of tissue (mature cells).
