Document Summary

Global patterns: sunlight spread out more in north; 40% decrease in solar energy hitting the planet, think 3d; vertical and horizontal atmospheric. No uniform distribution of heat in air column, planet is spinning: disequilibrium in temp because of n-s season. More spread in winter in north and opposite in south. If you"ve got uniform air temp everywhere, there"s no circulation. Uneven heating, air pockets don"t like each other and fight. Sun is always poking the earth, trying to stir up fight with air pockets: creates movements of h2o air; increase volume with increase heat. Stirs up and causes currents: when you heat up an air pocket, it rises. When its warm it can absorb lots of moisture. Air at equator is grabbing air, goes up and as it gets higher in atmosphere, it cools. And when air gets cool, it can"t hold onto moisture. Once it"s cooled, there"s another body of air coming up and pushing it.
