Document Summary

Euclidean geometry is the study of the geometric properties of euclidean spaces (it is a type of geometric space where euclid"s axioms of geometry are satisfied). It is one that studies the geometric properties of the plane and of space introducing the five postulates of euclid. This last postulate, which is known as the postulate of the parallels, was reformulated as: From a point outside a line, a single parallel can be drawn to the given line. The deductive method is the one used in science and mainly in geometry. This method consists in connecting a set of knowledge that is accepted as true, to obtain new propositions that are logical consequence of the previous ones. The deductive method is also called the axiomatic method and is based on: Geometry needs to develop its own vocabulary and to develop it we start with words that are obtained from everyday life.
