Document Summary

Fairytales have continued to change from generation to generation to better suit the everyday changes in the societal factors. Knowing that the glass slipper wasn"t theirs, the stepsisters started cutting off their toes and heel to make it seem like they were the ones wearing the glass slippers on the night of the ball. Cinderella later punishes, or seeks revenge from her stepsisters for their dreadful acts at her wedding, by having their eyes plucked out by birds, in utter mercilessness. Distinctly, the modern audience would not accept or appreciate being exposed to such cruelty and ruthlessness, especially when the audience is of younger age. Thus, the adjustment in the audience developed to the improvement, in the fantasy stories. As the time passed, not only was the violence eliminated from the fantasy stories but the explicit content had also been extracted, to better suit the population of the audience.
