If you do end up persuading the group, it will be long-lasting. Conformity is going along with the group. Obedience is when we have someone in authority telling us to do something. Milg(cid:396)a(cid:373) thought that if the(cid:396)e (cid:449)e(cid:396)e a(cid:272)tual (cid:272)o(cid:374)se(cid:395)ue(cid:374)(cid:272)es, people (cid:449)ould(cid:374)(cid:859)t o(cid:271)ey. People thought less than 1 percent of participants would go to 450 volts, in actuality 63 percent of participants did.
