Document Summary
Lord of the flies is a well-known novel by golding and touches upon religious allegories. the plot revolves around a few boys trapped on an island, forging their own society. In this scenario, the author is able to input allegories based on christian beliefs. This is comparable to satan"s temptations, and golding reinforces this idea many times. He includes these religious allegories to show that without structure humans will resort to sin very quickly. Golding"s allegories leads the direction of the book in a similar fashion to most biblical stories. Lord of the flies touches on all the key elements that generally make up a biblical story. As simon rises up to a protagonist position, he is attributed with christ-like features. Simon was tempted by the beast just as jesus was tempted by satan. With that being said, satan and the beast also share similarities. They both try to tempt a christ-like figure into doing wrong.
