Culture- set of values, beliefs, rules held by a group of people. Ethnocentricity is belief the culture is better then others usa. Subculture is people who share a unique way of life within a larger culture (language, ra(cid:272)e, lifest(cid:455)le); e(cid:454)a(cid:373)ples are goth, pu(cid:374)k, e(cid:373)o, a(cid:374)d chi(cid:374)a"s diale(cid:272)ts, ara(cid:271)s glo(cid:271)all(cid:455). Culture literacy helps improves the ability to negotiate and manage local markets. Identify the components of culture and describe their impact on international business. Asethetics, values and attitudes, manners & customs, social structure, religion, personal communication, education, physical enviroments. Values and attitudes: freedom, honesty, time, and work. Manners & customs: appropriate behavior, ways to do things. Customs: folk, popular (hockey in canada), gift giving. Social structure: social group: two or more people who interact, social stratification: process of ranking people, social mobility: ease of moving up or down on the social ladder. Mixed signals: the ok symbol in germany is very rude.
