We will take a rst look at human impact on agriculture. We will touch on the concept of biotechnology and look at our current ability to genetically modify organisms. We will cover the general procedure and techniques required to make an altered crop species. We will discuss the requirement for advancing the production and commercial use of. The science of using living organisms, or the products of living organisms for human bene t or to bene t human surroundings. Ie. to make a product of solve a problem using biological sciences. In workforce biotechnology is divided into many areas : microbial biotechnology fermentation, vaccines, diagnostics (medical or research, agricultural biotechnology designer crops, bioreactors for desirable agents (medicine) Ie. were humans performing biotechnology based techniques such as gene manipulations, creation of genetically modi ed organisms and producing customized animals/plants 1000s of years ago? yes!
