Social challenges and diversity ta notes: critical question. In what ways can diversity be defined: identity, we have a need to be both different and to belong in groups. Identity is self-definition, sense of who one is, where one is going in life, and how one fits into society. It is also related to the connections we make with other: sense of in-group (dominant/makes decisions/has the most power) and out- group, identity. What challenges our identity: everything around us can both challenge or support identity, separating yourselves from others and thinking who you really are.
