Child labour became a burning global social issue in the 1990s. International media and technology began to alert us to the sordid aspects of globalization. Saving working children has become an international effort: reebok & nike, unicef. Pursuing policies and address child labour globally. Before this, there was no global organization. We can agree that child trafficking and prostitution or children"s participation in crime is harmful. There are misrepresentations and blind spots on other forms of dangerous work. Children in employment 5-17 who worked at least one hour in the previous reference week. Child labour children who work in hazardous occupations or those who are under the minimum employment age. Hazardous work / worst forms of child labour are children working in occupations covered in ilo 182. What constitutes hazardous is however not as well defined as it appear. Women play a prominent role in many of these cases.
