Alcmena wont sleep with him until he has cleansed himself by avenging the deaths of her brothers. He later brags about his descendant who is about to be born. Amphitryon comes home a few days later to a lukewarm welcome. Hera hates )eus(cid:859) affairs, (cid:271)ut (cid:272)a(cid:374) o(cid:374)ly pu(cid:374)ish his lo(cid:448)ers a(cid:374)d (cid:272)hildre(cid:374). She asks zeus to confirm his boasts. He is a grandson of perseus so he is also descended from zeus. Eurystheus was born prematurely and so has the kingdom (mycenae) that was meant for heracles. Two different traditions linked by the exile story. He knows that heracles is not really his son, but raises him anyway. Alcmena has just as great role in socializing her son. Heracles has a twin brother born at the same time.
