What is Education?

student to be an active participant, not a passive consumer” Bell Hooks. Society is
passive. How does that affect education? Should education take a passive approach?
What are the aims of Education?
Are the aims of education intrinsic (for itself ), or extrinsic (for something else)? User
education versus value of education. Is there an application for it?
