Effective relations through birth to adolescents, multiple entry points for family engagement: exosystem- comprised of parents work places, provide opportunities and challenges in their involvement with their child"s education. Found mothers who worked part time were more involved then parents who worked full time or not at all: macrosystem-society in general, broader community. Also have cultural norms: chronosystem- thinking of time as an individuals lifespan, as well as the education system over time. Talks about childrens success being rooted in the interaction of these three things (school, family, community) There are several decades of research studies that demonstrate student achievement and wellbeing is increased with family involvement.
