FNCE 3P93 Lecture Notes - Scope Creep
Document Summary
Mmi took on a project that they were not entirely ready for. The scope of the project got to vast for it to be adequately manageable. Woodson leave, caused attention away from actually completion of the project. The project had no definite time schedule and was being constantly delayed. The scope creep of the project could have also contributed to some of the development cycles being over looked. Since the project was constantly being delayed, there might have been an urgency to meet deadlines and thus skipping important steps such as testing. Not testing the system adequately can contribute to implementation problems, which would continue to harm the project. Mmi could also of been negatively impacted by outsourcing some of the project to a third party. Outsourcing has its advantages, however problems can arise. The firm taking on the business from the outsourcing should be capable of taking on the project.
