We let just enough immunity develop to ensure a healthy response, without having a response against our own cells. Immunity= immunitas(latin: exemption from)(smallpox)(noticed people who got plague and survived only got it once=immunity) Fight infection: flu season(endemic), boost immune system before or as we come into contact with a virus(vaccines) which increases our level of immunity to the pathogen. Viruses take control of the adaptive immune system. Fight cancer: too much proliferation, proteins on surface, once this happens immune system attacks. The eye of providence: the immune system can distinguish self from non-self. The immune system only go after non-self cells. Over time, our cells are taught who is self. Antigens (non-self foreign molecules: bacterium, proteins, glycolipids, fats with sugars attached to them, virus. Influenza needs one of our cells to actually proliferate. Cardiovascular system, respiratory system, organs associated with bodily functions.
