Igg- most abundant, especially after re-exposure to ag. Ige- trace in serum from sensitized plasma cells to mast cells- histamines. Incomplete (haptens)- immunigenic if combined with larger (carrier) molecules. Three major classes of all cell surface molecules (hla- human leukocyte antigen) which bind fragments of foreign proteins for presentations to antigen-specific t cells. Chsc 4p95 page 1 fragments of foreign proteins for presentations to antigen-specific t cells. Can attach to rbcs or endothelial cells; can lead to extravasation. Scavenging by macrophages and pmns of immunoglobin coated (opsonized) pathogens (bacteria) Abnormal response to exogenous antigens or endogenous autoantigens (hypersensitivity/allergic disease) Basophil/ mast cell production and release of mediators. Examples: hives, hay fever, asthma, anaphylactic shock (bee sting) Mediated by cytotoxic igg/igm antibodies against cellular/ tissue antigens. Increased ability to kill ag-bearing cells and bacteria. Various allergens (rubber gloves, gold rings, poison ivy) Exogenous antigens activation of ab against the antigen & self cells with similar determinant.
