Most computers need to be replaced every 4-6 years. Upgrades should not cost more than what you paid for the computer: understand what is wrong first. It might not be worth it to fix something that might not last: keep price and time to fix in mind. Might be able to install a port, or hardware device. Desktops: might be able to add adapter card. Adapter card: a motherboard provides ports for external devices and slots for internal devices. Typically, parts need to be matching: cpu requires a motherboard with specific socket, ram should be suitable for motherboard, choosing a video card should be considered when taking speed, motherboard connections into account. Why replace: does(cid:374)"t ha(cid:448)e desired de(cid:448)i(cid:272)es, slow: usually an indication that there are other problems. Connection speed given in gbps or mbps. Connecting the ethernet cable is better than wifi. Slow os: updates tend to improve speed.
