Family teaches us about gender, identity, and who we are meant to be; this is the space where we are taught how to live. Culture is a learned set of shared interpretations about beliefs, values, norms and social practices which impact a large group of people (refer back to definition in beginning lectures in term 1) Family is the fundamental communication system i"m all cultures. People of every culture are born into a network of family relationships.
