Milestones: babbling (6 months, first words (12 months)- ranges from 10-15 months, two-word phrases (18 months, three-word sentences (24 months) Diiculty with comprehension &/or expression of language: must be signiicant, must be persistent, can manifest itself in spoken &/or writen modaliies, or in signed languages, must set child apart from others of same age, from same culture. African american english is a dialect of english- not a disorder: can afect some or all of language form, content, and use, should afect person"s ability to funcion in social environment.
