Look at distribution and see what precedes and follows noun. Ex realization has derivational bound morpheme -ion is attached to verb realize to make noun realization. Noun can act as adjectives (ex boat race boat is noun but in this case it modifies the word race to describe what kind of race it was so boat is an adjective in this case) Works the other way too (ex intelligent is an adjective such as an intelligent person but it is also a noun in the case of a sentence such as the intelligent are arrogant whereas intelligent means intelligent people) This works as well for words like the rich, the young, the old etc. Mass nouns which refer to larger units or categories, such as furniture, luggage, bread, cheese. Abstract nouns which refers to concepts and emotions etc like justice, love etc. Collective nouns refer to sets, units or categories like audience, press, committee, faculty.
