Deductive instruction is when teacher explains topics and learners practice what is taught. Learner work out rules for themselves from examples given. Willingness to tolerate ideas and beliefs which may be opposed to own beliefs. Learners with high tolerance more successful language learners as better eqiuipped to deal with contradictory information. Learners with intolerance may want precise rules and explanations. Making slower, more calculated decisions or quick guesses. Impulsive learners may be ready to hazard a guess and usually faster readers but make more mistakes. Reflective learners need more patients from teachers as they think things through. Visual prefer reading, studying charts and drawing, graphic info.
