Global women"s strike (bonus question on final exam) 1 day strike a day without a woman. Women fighting for: equal pay, reproductive rights, valuing women"s labour, universal healthcare rights. International strike, put together by women in 30 different countries. 30 feminist organizations got together and called a strike for march 8th 2017. Women do not just work in the paid labour market/formal sectors, they also do unpaid labour, care work, caring for children, etc. Strike stoppage of labour, not just for paid labour but for unpaid like cooking, cleaning, caring for children, etc. Walk outs in schools, colleges, household strikes. Women in indiana wrote a letter for their partners and walk out of household duties, the message states that the man is to do the care work while the woman is striking. Question: definition of a strike, and the kind of work that the women"s strike has struck; paid work, unpaid work, care work, domestic labour, etc.
