Sacriicing own emoions in order to help animals. She wants us to build empathy for these animals. Don"t look away we need to look at these images. Ignoring the science that animals are senient beings because it is inconvenient. Leaving animals is hardest thing and what haunts jo-anne mcarthur. These animals are commodiies so the owners don"t care and will feed and give them the bare minimum to survive. What happens to monkeys before they go to research lab. Jo-anne seeks to create a connecion between humans and non-humans with her photos. These places she takes pictures in are hidden and all around the world. If these photos aren"t seen it is out of sight out of mind. She was efected before even leaving for farm. The noises these animals make suggest, at least to me, they are in distress. Again the noises suggest they are in distress.
