Discourse is the source of all meaning and value. This situation that we are in is constructed socially through language. Humans are an objective being but also have a subjective thinking being. Social location are subjectivity that are constructed for us through discourse. His discourse says who his supporters should be. Tells us what kind of people are in the world and what we can become. Different selves are constructed for us through discourse. The power to tell us, to shape for us, what kind of people we can be is very political. Trying to create a subject that is outside of the hegemonic order, outside what we are told is acceptable or normal. Society depends on us not questioning the fundamental structures of the world. Hegemony tells us what we should be and what we can become and who is invisible. We are told stories of presidents are more significant that say a janitor.
