A person whose gender identity differs from the gender they were assigned at birth. Something that is not in nature but rather something that society has constructed. What being a man means or what being a woman means changes over time. So much of our society is based on this gender line. Ex/ buying little boys trucks and little girls dolls because of assumptions we make of that child. Assigned female at birth and transition to male. Assigned male at birth and transition to female. A person who identifies with gender they were assigned at birth. This deviance in male sex work is often linked with sexuality for male sex workers. Late 19th/early 20th century, sexuality defined more by sex act that gender of partner. There was no true line between being heterosexual and homosexual. The line back than was between feminine and masculine. What you did in the bedroom not with whom you did it with.
