Popular representaions of sex work and sex workers. The images of sex workers in popular culture aren"t a proper representaion of sex workers but it is used more than the tesimonies of real sex workers. These images are more representaive of the writers" percepion of sex workers. These percepions inform and impact social media about sex workers, even though they are not true. When bill c-36 was put into efect conservaive mp, joy smith, used an example of an actress portraying a prositute when making case. Prety women apparently glorify prosituions to everyone but sex workers. Parallels between the sex worker community and the queer community when it was also criminalized. We assume things about these two groups. Just like the queer community in balls, underground dance halls, sex workers use realness. The queer community used realness to act and be perceived as being straight. People are fearful of sex worker realness as performed by an actress.
