The person sending the message encodes it, puts it into terms that are understandable to others. The communication channel is the means of getting the message to the receiver. The person receiving the message decodes it, put its into terms she or he can understand. How the receiver responds to the message is known as feedback: physical barriers, language barriers, body language barriers, personal experience barriers, perceptual barriers, cultural barriers, organizational barriers. Communication barriers are obstacles to effective communication.
