Business communication: creating and delivering messages that matter lecture 2 notes- Effective communication happens only when you transmit relevant meaning to your audience. Communication must be dynamic, fluid, and two-way. Messages much be delivered properly to be interpreted properly. Feedback is necessary if you want feedback to continue. Having seats for the audience to listen. Different experiences cause different ways to interpret things. What we perceive and our decisions on whether or not we listen and how we do it. The person sending the message encodes it, puts it into terms that are understandable to others. The communication channel is the means of getting the message to the receiver. The person receiving the message decodes it, put its into terms she or he can understand. How the receiver responds to the message is known as feedback: physical barriers, language barriers, body language barriers, personal experience barriers, perceptual barriers, cultural barriers, organizational barriers. Communication barriers are obstacles to effective communication.
