This question doesn"t make sense unless you understand how they view perception. The creator made us with holes in our bodies. Through these holes we communicate with the world. As a consequence we go out with the holes. The mind goes out along the senses. When the mind hits an object it assumes a modification which represents the object being seen/heard/tasted. Mind comes back along the senses and then is viewed by the intellect. He rang a bell comparing it to normal experience. The subject is aware of the object. Knowledge is of an object by a subject. When we hear the bell we are aware of the sound of the bell. Perhaps further reflection would be in order, like. It looks like that is always escaping us. I would be like saying without looking in a mirror look at yourself. I am aware of my hearing the bell. I am aware my being aware of my hearing the bell.
