Proves that not only is change impossible, but motion is impossible as well. You cannot step in the same river twice. - cratylus. Because the waters that make up the river are constantly changing. Our senses lie to us because everything is in influx. Nothing really has any meaning or value, most particularly the study of philosophy itself. No one can ever know what is true. The soul is unique and of its own kind. The soul is very much like the forms rather than the particulars. Because we desire something, but so do our neighbours. The more that the soul becomes separated from the body, the more knowledge you can have, the more knowledge you can recollect. Complete knowledge really seems to require that the soul divorce itself from the body so that the soul can be alone with its forms.
