The dvd tomorrow will be on brains and computers. Here are the 3 key things to watch for: the difference he makes between analog and digital computers. (analog= dialed frequency radio) Digital, you flip a switch and it"s either off/on. 3 bits info= byte of information (binary coding) Structured bits between 1 and 0, conform a continuum: the great simplicity of the structure of computers. Computer, 1 thing happens at a time. Serial machine: the immense complexity of the brain. Works as a tree, dendrite, axon, etc. of neuron to pass on info. Multiple things going on at one time ex language + sight + taste, etc. Complex processing ex. left hemisphere directs right side of body and vice versa. Functional areas can change for environment and experience. Final thing: difference is how much we know, we created computers!
